Karl Turner supports Unite Cabin Crew Workers in their struggle with British Airways

Karl Turner joined striking cabin crew from British Airways’ mixed fleet outside parliament yesterday to show solidarity with the workers who are involved in a long running dispute over pay and the sanctioning of striking cabin crew.

Workers have been in dispute with British Airways over pay and raised the issue of ‘wet leasing’, a practice of undermining striking workers with temporary crew and fleet from other airlines.

Speaking after the event, Karl Turner, Shadow Minister for Aviation said “I am proud to give my support to striking British Airways workers in their struggle for fair pay and conditions.

“This is a long running dispute and I am shocked that British Airways have chosen to undermine striking workers through wet leasing and taking on temporary crew.

“Unite the Union have done some great work in support of these striking cabin crew and it is about time that British Airways recognised their hard work”.
